There’s no denying that our smartphones have become an extension of ourselves. In this digital age, the importance of carrying a smartphone is unimaginably underrated. For most people, a smartphone is more than just a cellphone. Considering the plethora of applications available on the App Store and Google Play Store, how one person uses their smartphone differs from others. Most of us customize our smartphones using specific applications that ease our lives. However, given the number of options to choose from, it may get difficult to decide which application is the best bet for your needs. Today, we’ll specifically talk about some of the apps to increase productivity that we use daily and are confident that you’ll enjoy them as much as we do.
Evernote is our favourite cloud-based note-taking application. We use it daily to jot down our priority action items. Being a cloud-based application, you can access Evernote from anywhere. The feature-rich application allows you to take notes, create tasks, group notes together, and even create shortcuts to your most-accessed notes. Another reason why we love Evernote is due to its integration capabilities with commonly used applications like Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Gmail. So, if you’re looking at improving your note-taking experience or staying organised while managing multiple notes, Evernote will be your best friend.
While the free version of the application will meet most of your note-taking needs, the upgrade comes with a bunch of appreciable benefits, such as being able to sync the application across multiple devices, up to 10GB of monthly uploads, and more. Learn more about Evernote here.
Microsoft Swiftkey is a third-party keyboard application for Android and iOS devices. The exciting aspect of this keyboard is the ability to type your thoughts with just gestures. While we are not aware of Microsoft’s technology here, the word prediction of every swipe across the keyboard is astonishingly accurate. In fact, after spending some time using the keyboard, we started typing quicker and were quite confident with the word predictions the keyboard made for me. The keyboard also comes with a host of productive features like a customisable toolbar, enabling the ability to choose GIFs, access Google Translate, use one-handed mode, and more. You can also theme your keyboard using a variety of available themes and colours. Most of all, the application is free on Android and iOS.
How often have you skipped reading an article due to time constraints or due to the article’s length? Well, with Pocket, you can save your articles to read them later when you’ve got time. It’s a simple application to serve as your web article library. While the application comes with only a few features, they still make the Pocket experience worthwhile. Once you’ve saved your favourite articles to your Pocket, you can then customise text sizes, fonts, and viewing modes. You can also categorise your articles with tags and highlight passages. Additionally, Pocket also offers the audio playback option, allowing you to listen to your saves on the go. Pocket is available on Android, iOS, and the web for free.

Although we advocate the old-school pen and paper method to take notes and keep track of your work, this seems quite impractical in today’s digital age when things are moving fast, and you need to be on track 24X7. These are some best apps to increase productivity and are great to help you stay at the top of your game, whether you’re on a smartphone or laptop.
